Biography

Spencer Klein is a Boston-based music educator with degrees in music education and brass performance. He has performed with groups such as the Kammerwerke Dectet, the Gordon Symphony Orchestra, and the Boston Chinese Music Association among others in such places as Cary Hall, Symphony Hall, and Benaroya Hall. Klein began playing French Horn at the age of 11 and the fickle nature of the instrument led him to a strong and supportive musical community. With a goal to create a similar community for others, Klein began a path toward a teaching career in 2017 by taking on private beginner trumpet students. While having a strong background in classical music, Klein focuses on a student-centered approach so he expanded his knowledge of popular music pedagogy to include skills in piano, ukulele, guitar, and songwriting methods. In addition to music Klein has a wealth of experience in comedy. Having studied improvisational comedy for 8 years, Klein easily thinks on his feet and engages students with his sense of humor.  Originally from Seattle, Washington, Klein has a love of nature, hiking, playing basketball, and perhaps most importantly, the Seattle Seahawks.
